Soft living is about more than luxury and comfort. For Black women especially, soft living can be a way of reclaiming joy, rest, self-love, while also resisting the pressure of the systems that were never designed for them to thrive. In this episode of Space To Exhale: The Podcast, Lisa welcomes veteran educator, author, speaker, and anti-racist activist Rosemary Campbell-Stevens, MBE, for a conversation about what it means to move beyond simply using “Global Majority” as a term, and start embracing “Global Majority” as a lifestyle. Because honestly, a lot of what we call soft living nowadays is rooted in practices and rituals created by the communities now known as the Global Majority. As the person who brought the term Global Majority to prominence, Rosemary is uniquely qualified to participate in this discussion. Together, Lisa and Rosemary explore Black identity, decolonization, soft living, and the everyday practices that can help Black women get centered and heal themselves. In “Exploring Global Majority Life: Soft Living as Liberation,” you will discover:💚 What it looks like to live a Global Majority life💚 Why soft living can be liberatory 💚 How joy, rest, and self-love can become intentional daily practices💚 How decolonizing our thinking can change the way we understand ourselves and the world💚 How Black women can define freedom, softness, and fulfillment on their own terms Join Lisa and Rosemary and be part of a conversation that invites you to imagine a life shaped less by survival mode and more by true liberation. 💚 Enjoying Space To Exhale?🎧 Listen, follow and rate on Spotify🎧 Listen, follow, rate, and review on Apple🎧 Listen, follow, and rate on Audible▶️ Watch, subscribe, and comment on YouTube📤 Share your favorite episode with a friend who needs a little space to exhale 😊🙏🏾 Get The Gentle Breath NewsletterThe Gentle Breath is Lisa Hurley's Sunday newsletter featuring affirmations, reflections, wellbeing resources, podcast updates, and gentle encouragement for living a soft, centered, serene life. Sometimes the life you worked hard to build stops feeling like the life you want to live. That does not mean you failed at life—you definitely haven’t. But it might mean that some changes need to happen. In “The Soft Pivot: Reinventing Life on Your Own Terms,” Lisa Hurley welcomes Life Strategist, Senior Project Manager, and Mystique Femininity creator Christian Sismone for a conversation about recognizing when you have outgrown an old version of your life and are ready to intentionally create what comes next.In this episode of Space To Exhale: The Podcast, Lisa and Christian will explore what happens when women begin questioning the roles, expectations, and habits that have shaped their lives, and start making choices based on who they are now. They will also talk about the pressure many women, especially Black women, experience to remain endlessly capable, independent, and self-sufficient, even when their goals, health, or minds, and bodies require support. You will discover:💚 How to recognize when the life you built no longer reflects who you are💚 Why reinvention can begin with clarity rather than crisis💚 What is a soft pivot and why you might need one right now💚 How to move from performing your life to actually inhabiting it💚 Why asking for and receiving support is essential when your goals exceed your individual capacity💚 How softness, strategy, and self-trust can work together to shape what comes nextJoin Lisa and Christian for a thoughtful conversation about intentional reinvention, lasting change, and creating a life that aligns with who you are today.💚 Enjoying Space To Exhale?🎧 Listen, follow and rate on Spotify🎧 Listen, follow, rate, and review on Apple🎧 Listen, follow, and rate on Audible▶️ Watch, subscribe, and comment on YouTube📤 Share your favorite episode with a friend who needs a little space to exhale 😊🙏🏾 Get The Gentle Breath NewsletterThe Gentle Breath is Lisa Hurley's Sunday newsletter featuring affirmations, reflections, wellbeing resources, podcast updates, and gentle encouragement for living a soft, centered, serene life. Black people are expected to carry the weight of racism while continuing to work, lead, care for others, and prove their worth. It’s exhausting. That exhaustion has a name: Black fatigue, a phrase coined by Mary-Frances Winters to describe the cumulative, intergenerational toll of racism on the mind, body, and spirit. In addition to being the founder and CEO of The Winters Group, Mary-Frances Winters is the bestselling author of “Black Fatigue: How Racism Erodes the Mind, Body, and Spirit” (Berrett-Koehler, 2020). Her daughter, Mareisha Winters Reese, is the president and chief operating officer of The Winters Group, and coauthor of the newly released second edition of Black Fatigue (Berrett-Koehler, 2026). In this episode of Space To Exhale: The Podcast, Lisa welcomes this powerful duo to unpack what Black fatigue looks like, why it persists, and what can be done about it.In “Black Fatigue: Rest, Resistance & Reclaiming the Self,” they explore:🖤How racism creates chronic, cumulative, and intergenerational stress🖤Why Black fatigue results in even more adverse health impacts in a post-COVID world🖤What it means to reclaim the self beyond work, proving, and survival🖤Why Black people deserve to experience rest 🖤How individuals and organizations can move from awareness to meaningful changeJoin Lisa, Mary-Frances, and Mareisha for an honest conversation about naming the harm, resisting depletion, and creating space for Black people to heal, flourish, and rest.💚 Enjoying Space To Exhale?🎧 Listen, follow and rate on Spotify🎧 Listen, follow, rate, and review on Apple🎧 Listen, follow, and rate on Audible▶️ Watch, subscribe, and comment on YouTube📤 Share your favorite episode with a friend who needs a little space to exhale 😊🙏🏾 Get The Gentle Breath NewsletterThe Gentle Breath is Lisa Hurley's Sunday newsletter featuring affirmations, reflections, wellbeing resources, podcast updates, and gentle encouragement for living a soft, centered, serene life. What happens when we stop treating noise, crowds, constant activity, and performative networking as the only paths to meaningful connection? In this spontaneous episode of Space To Exhale: The Podcast, Lisa Hurley is joined by her sister, author and community builder Sharon Hurley Hall, and her friend, author and event strategist Latrice Torres, for a warm, candid conversation about creating spaces where introverts can connect, contribute, and thrive.Together, they explore what becomes possible when gatherings are designed with introverts in mind. From intimate networking events that generate real relationships and tangible opportunities to retreats where participants can step away without explanation, they demonstrate that quieter spaces are not less powerful. When people feel safe, respected, and free from the pressure to perform, deeper connections can emerge. The conversation also examines the hidden energy required to host, network, build community, and “people” as an introvert. Lisa, Sharon, and Latrice discuss honoring different expressions of introversion, rejecting the idea that quietness is a flaw, and building rest into the experience before, during, and after showing up. Introverts can do big, visible, impactful things, but that does not mean the impact comes without an energetic cost.In “Less Noise, More Connection: Creating Spaces Where Introverts Can Thrive,” viewers and listeners will learn:💚 Why introvert-affirming spaces can foster deeper connection and belonging💚 How intentional event design can reduce overwhelm without diminishing impact💚 Why introverts need the freedom to step away, recharge, and participate on their own terms💚 How to create community without relying on performative networking or constant social engagement💚 Why rest should be built into our lives, events, and experiences You'll also get a sneak peek into Sharon's fabulous event in Barbados, the Still & Sovereign Retreat, and into Latrice's equally fabulous book launch/TEDx Talk celebration From the Page to the Stage.Join Lisa, Sharon, and Latrice for a warm, honest conversation about introversion, intentional community, restorative rest, and what it takes to create spaces where quieter people can fully belong.
