On this episode of 2 Black Guys Talk Godzilla , we look at a new monster and another ambitious sci-fi plot in 2000’s Godzilla vs. Megaguirus, directed by Masaaki Tezuka. This entry finds the guys asking a lot of questions regarding just how over-the-top it is to introduce black holes into this series. There’s plenty to say about what this Millennium-era entry does to stand out, what it adds to the series, and whether or not the King of the Monsters is good at squashing bugs. Enjoy! This week we are drawn towards a different kind of Godzilla that’s come up a few times over the decades - his animated adventures. On this episode of 2 Black Guys Talk Godzilla, Aaron and Terence move away from the live-action films for a spell to look back at Hanna-Barbera’s Godzilla animated series that ran from 1978 to 1979, as well as Godzilla: The Series, the animated spin-off of the Roland Emmerich film that ran from 1998 to 1999. There’s plenty to say about what both shows offered in terms of their similar premises, animation style, and more. And that’s still before we get to the Godzooky of it all. Enjoy! Recorded in three sessions while away in Japan, here is the 2 Black Guys Talk Godzilla episode recapping what happened when Aaron and Terence went on vacation to the otherside of the world and saw plenty of Godzilla-related sites and more. Yes, the 2 Black Guys stayed in the Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah room in Hotel Gracery, but that's not all. They saw key sites such as Osaka Castle and Tokyo Tower, ate it up at the Pokémon Cafe, enjoyed a night of sumo wrestling, and, of course, took the ride of a lifetime by zip-lining through Godzilla's mouth. Hear about all of this and other adventures in this episode covering the guys' time in the Land of the Rising Sun. Enjoy! This is a public episode.
